The bell can also be heard:
- on Saturday at 1700. On hearing it then, Anloo residents say: 'Dommie kreg 'n schoon hemd an'; which roughly translated means "The Preacher is looking out his clean shirt", in other words, preparing for his Sunday service.
- one hour before the church service and at the beginning of the service.
- at 0800 when a death occurs in the village and during burial ceremonies in the graveyard.
